Shout At The Devil! [Halloween Party] Band members and friends invited

Zack had decided that he wanted to do something for Halloween now that he'd gotten his new costume and being a Spider-Man fan he'd gone for a Spider-Punk costume straight from his comics. He'd gotten it at a local comic store down on the Strip and couldn't wait to show Damien because he knew the Dog didn't have comics or anything fun back in Hunger City. Zack now pleased that he'd arranged a Halloween Party for the band members, their friends and family to attend inside the communal area of the apartments. It was the biggest space and there was a bar all stocked up with spooky drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike.

It would be a blast!

There were even spooky snacks with crisps and chips shaped like bats, ghosts and pumpkins. There were even actual pumpkins on a table for those who wished to carve a pumpkin alone or with friends. Zack had tried to make it accessible for all, those who wished to party and get drunk and those who wanted to do non-boozy activities too.

As for costumes---they were optional but preferred.

"Ok, I think that's it. Everyone should be arriving soon."

Zack looking around the room and hoping everyone would like what he had set-up with help from some of the others of course.

Ana smirked at Dee's comments. "We have to pull Rekker out of the workshop all the time."

The ginger couldn't deny the accusation. "As long as it is ok with the girls." It was their choice since it was their lessons. He didn't mind if someone came to watch the lesson.

“Oh, we’d love to.” Jay answered immediately, prompting a chuckle from his partner.

“…We’d like to meet everybody… eventually.”

Though, with the number of people that kept showing up from every direction, he might not have brought enough recording balls.

Dee smiled. It felt good to catch back up with an old acquaintance. And he very well may learn something, sitting in on voice lessons from another instructor.

“would it be okay, girls?”

He didn’t know any signs for that so he just gave a thumbs up.

“That would have been a lot of cheese. I think the plan was to fill it with beer too…” Minoru scratched his head, almost knocking one of his neck bolts off. “They come up with the weirdest ideas.”

(Says the one who set up a tic tac toe board out of pool noodles, suspended it in the apartment lobby and then proceeded to play parkour tic tac toe.)

The Morning After....

After any party Tom made rounds through the building, often with the other Sterlings now that they were all together. There were many reasons he had started these rounds. Watching for dangers and sometimes clean up. Mostly it was to take account of everyone. He needed to know that everyone was safe and if not, he would track down where they were. When you had this many rockstars to keep tabs on you had to do this.

Most had stayed, even Jack and Rekker and all the children. Moving through the main room he's not surprised to see the blondes all in the side room. The younger band members often hung out together. As expected Mikkel, Fredrik, Ansgar, Sam, Sigurd, Syn, and not too surprising Ana, were in the room. The big fold out couch in the room beside the communal room with the TV often saw this crowd. However, there was a dark haired person there too. At first, Tom thought maybe it was Aarne or Davy but, no, this was someone else. It left Tom standing there near the huge folded out couch trying to place who this person was.

"You're engaged? Congratulations to both of you. We've got a few couples here on tour that are going to get hitched at some point."

Johan beamed at the two boys and were happy for them. Wasn't Ronno getting married first? He gave Ziggy that impressive ring and then there was Bjorn, who screamed about his pretty ring. That thing must have cost Rekker a lot of money.

"A place that's legal? You could try Denmark or Sweden. Back where I come from two men are entitled to get married with one another."

The guitarist hoped Dee and Jay could find somewhere.

"You might not know but I get called "Tiger Boy" by others because of my love for tiger stripe."

Unfortunately, despite wanting to meet Tom ever since he was name-dropped at the City Charms show, Dee hadn’t run into him. So, for Tom, this really was quite the mystery.

He was still decked out in his Prophet garb, though some of the warpaint had rubbed off. Someone had draped a blanket over him, but it had fallen on the floor at some point, revealing long, thin limbs. All of him was painfully thin, really. Almost fragile.

And he was definitely out cold, entirely sound asleep.

Tom stared at the figure on the floor and couldn't help but think this was an Anthean. Sure, they had red hair but hair dye existed. How many boxes did this apartment alone go through in a year? Tommy would know.

It was only a bit of thought and a few moments before Tommy was came up beside him with his usual, eerie silence. Then they were talking in hushed whispers about this new person. Tommy standing there saw this was no Anthean but a human. The Anthean did not mention that this human was ill because that was private for humans.

Once confirmed that this was a human, Tom went to gently pick up the dark haired young man and put him back up in the open space on the fold out. There was plenty of space and most of the blondes had snuggled up close to each other.

"I wonder if that is why we ended up with a dunking tank full of beer in the parking lot?" There were so many questions and most of them Damien did not want answered.

(He also has no room to talk because he was probably taking part in parkour tic tac toe.)

The girls all nodded yes. They wouldn't mind even if the younger two would be nervous having someone else listen to them.

"Let me know which Saturday." Rekker grinned. "I hope your not afraid of lizards."

Whatever Rekker was referring to had the girls giggling.

"I haven't even had time to sit down and talk to everyone yet." Dee knew everyone in passing but sitting down and getting to know them, she hadn't done that with everyone yet.

Dee led them across the room and into the side room where there was an office of sorts. Rik was sitting there with a guitar in his lap and a flute on the table. He's writing music because unlike the others he's still in school and rarely drinks. Still, he didn't want to lock himself in his apartment away from everyone either.

"Rik?" Dee knows to speak quietly so not to startle the Dane. It was easy enough to do. Rik looked up and pulled off his headphones.

He had the look of an Anthean, and quite possibly also the size. So it was an easy assumption to make. Especially here.

As familiar as Tom was with picking up his son, this stranger wasn’t all that different. He only had about ten pounds or so on Ziggy, and was mostly limbs. He had the body temperature of a human, though. His skin wasn’t anywhere near that cold to the touch.

When Tom got his hands under him, though, he groaned in his sleep. “…nmm… Jay… five more min… pl…z…”

“We are.” Jay pulled out a ring on a necklace from underneath his costume. While they were both open about their sexuality, they opted for something a little less obvious for the outward presentation. Dee had one too, but it was a little harder to get to under his costume.

“Dee mentioned… the Scandinavian countries as a good option.” This Dee nodded. If Johan had any suggestions for more specific locations, both Dee and Jay were up for it.

But the conversation quickly drifted back toward music.

“I wouldn’t… want to get too far ahead of ourselves. But all of our stage names follow a similar pattern. The Prophet. The Mystic… if you wanted to become The Tiger… that would fit. It would be easy to incorporate the tiger stripes into the character designs…”

His band had a whole visual element to it, as their costumes tonight readily showed.

"You can sleep as long as you want." Tom mentioned as he lifted Dee back up on to the fold out couch. He's used to being called other people's names by sleeping people so this is nothing new.

"But you can't be on the floor. Someone will step on you." Tom had set the young man down and noticed the similarities between him and Ziggy, as well as the differences, before setting about tucking him back into blankets. There was a reason why so many of the musicians thought of Tom like a dad.

“…Lizards?”

He wasn’t, but the way the girls giggled made him a little curious now.

They followed, albeit at a bit slower pace. Fortunately, the small room wasn’t very far, and Dee had yet to tire himself out.

They both waited politely in the doorway while she got Rik’s attention. Dee knew the setup well. Headphones on, notebook out, instruments close by. Rik was obviously hard at work. Dee was trained first on piano, and typically had a keyboard beside him when he was working a composition, but it was largely the same.

Rekker started to laugh, mostly because of all the kids giggling.

"I have unconventional pets." Rekker admitted.

"Crusher is sweet. She's like a dog." Ana clarified while the other two were signing something that had Rekker laughing more.

"Big, scaly dog." Rekker nodded as he translate the signing.

Minoru laughed. “Well, if they already bought all the beer…”

He was kind of glad he didn’t get called out for that one. Dunking booths weren’t his thing. It was probably while he was working anyway. His nights off varied quite a bit from week to week.

(And probably winning a few rounds of parkour tic tac toe, let’s be real. Once he knew the rules of tic tac toe, anyway, not really being a childhood pastime in Ministry clutches…)

“…As big as a dog?”

He held out his hands, though only to the point of, say, a chihuahua or a pug. How bit did lizards get, anyway?

The girls kept giggling.

He was still mostly asleep when Tom picked him up. Being picked up or carried wasn’t a day to day occurrence, but it was common enough that Dee wasn’t startled by it.

No, what actually startled him was the sudden realization that wasn’t Jay’s voice.

His eyes shot open as Tom was in the middle of tucking him in. Cue the inevitable shock and surprise.

Rekker looked at the size that Dee motioned and snorted a laugh.

"She's as big as Rekker." Ana pointed out when her teacher fell into giggles. "We have to keep her away from the goats."

Crusher had never went after the goats because she was well fed but the kids knew not to take the risk.

He should have known from the massive amount of giggling that ensued that he grossly underestimated the size of this lizard. But as big as Rekker, and big enough to eat goats.

“… are you sure you’re not keeping an alligator?”

That was huge!

"James is the one with the crocodile." Rekker clarified. "Crusher is an Asian Water Monitor."

And to be fair, James' crocodile was a little baby.

"He has tarantulas and scorpions too." Ana mentioned because she felt like those might be more unnerving to someone than a big lizard that followed Rekker around like a dog.

The shocked expression isn't unusual to Tom. Moving people who were still drunk and sometimes easy to startle in general was the norm as well.

"You're ok." Tom pulled away when he saw the surprise. "I think you fell asleep on the floor."

Tommy was still there in the door way, watching but silent.

"I don't know. I avoided the whole thing." Damien, like Minoru, sometimes walked away from the insanity. Not too far though because he was often on duty but definitely far enough away that he wouldn't be dragged in.

(Damien was a quick study and this was one task where his height and slimness definitely was an advantage.)
