Shout At The Devil! [Halloween Party] Band members and friends invited

Zack had decided that he wanted to do something for Halloween now that he'd gotten his new costume and being a Spider-Man fan he'd gone for a Spider-Punk costume straight from his comics. He'd gotten it at a local comic store down on the Strip and couldn't wait to show Damien because he knew the Dog didn't have comics or anything fun back in Hunger City. Zack now pleased that he'd arranged a Halloween Party for the band members, their friends and family to attend inside the communal area of the apartments. It was the biggest space and there was a bar all stocked up with spooky drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike.

It would be a blast!

There were even spooky snacks with crisps and chips shaped like bats, ghosts and pumpkins. There were even actual pumpkins on a table for those who wished to carve a pumpkin alone or with friends. Zack had tried to make it accessible for all, those who wished to party and get drunk and those who wanted to do non-boozy activities too.

As for costumes---they were optional but preferred.

"Ok, I think that's it. Everyone should be arriving soon."

Zack looking around the room and hoping everyone would like what he had set-up with help from some of the others of course.

Rik was glad to brag about his cousin's work. "If you see one of the Hell's Angels shows, Ansgar worked with Viktor on their stage and pyrotechnics."

It would be a way to see what he did when he ran with ideas. Including Joe setting himself on fire on stage which was an Ansgar and Ollie talking to Joe while they all had too much to drink before a show idea. Rik made a mental note, now that he was thinking about it, to introduce Ansgar to Jake. They'd probably have a time together.

"I like them. What is their meanings?" Rik wasn't one for stage costumes but he's always curios in people's creative visions.. "We don't have them for stage but I know Svarte Ravner has a stage costume and set."

The handshake felt strange, and unexpectedly cold. It startled Dee, but he tried his best not to let that show. This was Ziggy Stardust’s uncle after all.

Though when Tom whispered to him, an equally quiet observation slipped out.

“He walks well… Sorry… I mean, at first, I thought he might… well… have the same condition I do.” Dee admitted. “But maybe not.”

Tom is glad to be behind Dee when he makes his comment. There's a moment of startle and panic, still, sometimes when the subject of his odd family comes up. After a breath though Tom comes back around.

"My wife's family does have an inherited, genetic anomaly but I wouldn't expect it to be like yours." Tom mentioned and truthfully muscle wasting was not one of the issues Antheans had on Earth. "The condition is rare."

How much rarer could you get than alien? However, Tom made a mental note to talk to Damien since he could get lumped in with the family for sure.

They would definitely have to catch one of those shows now, for multiple reasons.

“Kuro… are a band of rebels in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world, fighting against oppression and standing up for those with the same spark of magic within them… through music, of course.” Dee smiled confidently. “As the Prophet, I lead and inspire our fellow rebels with my words.“

“I’m the Mystic. I use the magic of music to soothe and heal.” Jay added of his own character.

Their costumes reflected those personas well. Dee was striking in tight leather and war paint. Jay looked more wizard-like in his robes, complete with potion bottles hanging from a belt.

“All band members will have their own character… along the same naming convention.” Dee explained. “And I hope… it’s something we can bring to our fans too… to create a Kuro name that they can use with each other. It would be wonderful to create a community for our fans where they know they feel safe… and uplifted.”

Dee was definitely getting ahead of himself there. But that was his motivation, laid bare.

Despite Tom’s momentary panic, Dee had no reason to seriously think that aliens existed. He was of the mindset that humans probably weren’t alone in the universe, if only because that would be a big waste of space. But he didn’t think they were here, on this planet, playing in rock bands or leading international corporations.

“…I understand what that’s like.” He empathized. Having a rare genetic anomaly himself - and being 100% human - he understood. Or, at least, he thought he did.

“Not sure if mine was inherited… or if I just got lucky with some spontaneous mutations.” Dee admitted. “But it is genetic. If I wanted to have a family… they might end up like me…”

Not that he really had to worry about that, being in a homosexual relationship.

“Last time I was with them it was shopping carts.” Minoru shook his head, sad to have missed the chair one too.

“Don’t judge me too much, but I completely botched my landing on the last shopping cart race. My shirt got caught and when everything went sideways, I couldn’t roll out of it.”

He completely got his bell rung, and was pretty out of it the rest of that night. Needless to say, he got a stern talking to when he dropped into work to be examined for a concussion at three in the morning.

Zack felt Damien's breath against his neck which caused a shiver to run through the shy drummer. It was hard not to imagine the Dog naked with his long legs on the bed and Zack lying alongside him.

"I'd---like that later."

He offered a shy smile and then kissed Damien's cheek. The Brit nodded at wanting to do his own tag because it was his identity as a graffiti artist, no doubt scrawled over a few walls on the Strip.

"Yeah, I could do my tag."

"I could make you something?"

Erik had been concocted some strange drinks all evening and the ones that were bright neon green and steaming seemed to taste the best. The Swede giggled as he passed over a freshly made "potion."

"How about trying this one? It's green like you and is sort of a monster drink. Lots of different drinks added and it's got this steaming effect."

Would Minoru like it? Erik hoped so. He had tried it himself and it tasted like apple cider mixed with chilli, ginger and lots of booze.

Harald smiled because he liked being complimented on his face paint since he took time on his appearance, whether it be for the stage or hanging out with friends. The Norwegian nodded and walked with Mikkel on his back to the bar.

"Soeren boy want drink?"

The big Viking now pouring out drinks for both of them. The glasses Harald found were huge like flower vases with handles because he liked to drink that way. Smaller glasses just broke under his huge hands.

"Where blond friend and grumpy daddy tonight?"

The way Davy held his arms around his body caused Sven to flinch a little because he could see how much the boy was hurting on the outside just by his body language. But, what about inside? The Swede couldn't even imagine...

"I love you."

Sven would give Davy space if he so wanted but he wanted to at least try to get through to the boy.

"You're a flatterer, mate. Both you and Ulfen are."

Mick just giggled a little and blushed. What else could he say about that? Not many men had ever called the Brit a hot man because he'd just not been around men that way before. The compliments felt good though.

"Perfume? I suppose it depends on what brand of gin you've tried."

"Drink out of a beaker, eh? That would look good with your costume and everything. The mad scientist."

Mick nodded and agreed with Minoru's line of thinking because Isamu was a scientist even without wearing a white coat and costume. The potion drinks were bloody strong though. Did the boys know this?

"Have you tried any of the steaming potion drinks yet? Erik's been busy mixing up concoctions at the corner of the bar, passing them out to guests. The one that's bright orange nearly took the skin off my tongue. It was full of fucking chilli I think."

"He's dirty? Oh! Another dirty old daddy like my brother then."

Niko laughed and knew Heikki only acted calm and boring. Everyone in the band knew he was a trashy man with dirty phrases scrawled over his bass guitars. Then, there were the photo shoots with him wearing nothing but a towel. Oh, maybe he should print some out and show everyone here!

"Yeah, he is. The boy's been through shit with a bastard ex but he's happier now he's found Jerry."

"Nice costume. Did you pick the flowers in your hair? They're pretty."

The Brit smiled and liked how they threaded throughout the drummer's long hair. The scent coming off them was pleasing too. Sam must like flowers and Zack thought it was cute. But, how tall Sam was though! Just as tall as Damien.

"You're tall like my boyfriend, Damien. He's your height and has the same length hair as you."

"I'm too fucking trashed to do anything about it, honey. It's fine. Don't worry your pretty head over it."

Joe ruffled up Minoru's hair and laughed a little as he downed some more booze. What was this "potion" drink anyway? It was strong as hell and Joe liked it.

"Maybe next time I should come to the party in my birthday suit! That way I've got nothing to rip."

"Princesses? You mean like Davy? He's such a fucking tart. Just like Gilly and Lars."

Joe grinned. He thought it was cute that Davy was a tart but amusing when he slapped people. Oh fuck though---Rekker's car!

"Fuck, babe. Did Rekker get pissed off at all the glitter in his car?"

Bjorn was always covered in it so---maybe he didn't mind because it was kids this time?

"Comfortable grouchy old daddy chair."

Fredrik snorted at those exact words he used as Sigurd just raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Why did he volunteer for this crazy shit? If brat wanted to carve a pumpkin with Fredrik then Sigurd would be a chair and comply.

"What should we carve?"

The blond bassist frowned as he pulled some of his hair back out of the way so that things didn't get messy with the pumpkin.

"Are you?"

Gunnar wasn't sure and felt a little uneasy knowing that the man might be a real one. The Swede's superstitions causing him to narrow his eyes a little at Lex's brother, hoping the vampire thing was an act.

"Yes, varg. I call him a wolf because he is a loner and is strong like a wolf."

Why yes, Gunnar had been staring at Lex's arms and body a lot. As for girls being after him, this didn't surprise the singer at all.

"I've heard. I wish it were me he was fucking but---I am trying to be patient."

The superstition caused the American to grin. It was amusing to him to see these people get all out of sorts.

"I don't bite and tell." Jake teased with an increasing grin.

"You just want an alpha." Jake was laughing so much now. This was a riot that some muscle bound guy was after his brother. "Don't get too jealous. No one's been in his pants for a couple months."

Davy was hugging himself tightly and staring blankly at the skyline. The guitarist trying not to remember the things that were in his mind.

Sven's voice pulled his eyes over toward the Swede. There are a lot of emotions in that gaze, a lot that Sven probably has never seen, mostly shame. Davy felt a deep burden of being broken because of what happened. Shame that he couldn't be a normal boyfriend to Sven any longer because what happened. He's pushing the Swede away but he really needs comfort and unwilling to ask for it. After a moment his gaze falls to the ground and he pulls his arms in tighter. Everything felt so wrong right now.

Tom headed for Robert's apartment and nodded to Dee understanding. There were similarities, especially when an Anthean first got to Earth. Th weakness, tiredness and some of the other things would definitely align.

"I tell them it must be all that red hair." Tom mentioned and it was enough to have Newton pause to give him a disappointed look. Every once in awhile Tom teased Tommy over things.

"It's something my wife and I thought about before having our second child." Not many people knew about Zayda in the public.

It wouldn't be long before they were entering Robert's apartment that he shared with Erik. Aside from the side table strewn with papers, the apartment is clean and tidy. Martyn and Robert are both in the kitchen talking quietly and it smells amazing in the apartment from whatever Robert is cooking, garlic, spice, and tomato definitely are involved.

“…You mean Jack?” He asked, having met Ziggy’s brother when they first arrived.

The man looked almost exactly like Ziggy, but he could easily have been a little bit younger. It wasn’t like they got a close up look at the famous one to compare. Still if he looked that similar, he probably inherited the same genetic anomalies too.

Tom could have kicked himself if he wasn't currently walking. Sometimes the alternate dimensions, aliens and what-not meant he put his foot in his mouth. This was one such occasion.

"Ziggy and Jack are twins." Tom clarified as he tried to dig himself out of the hole he just threw himself in. He could have kicked Tommy too for the amused little smile the older Anthean had. "I meant our youngest daughter."

Hopefully that would kill this line of questioning before he got truly backed into a corner.

It was a vey legitimate question. But the answer, while worded a little strangely, still seemed to satisfy Dee. Twins had the same genetics, after all. It wasn’t something he and his wife could have discussed in the middle of labor, between the births. It wouldn’t have made a difference even if they did. But discussing whether to have another child made plenty of sense.

”Oh, second pregnancy...” Dee mused aloud. “…did she? Inherit the condition, I mean? …If you don’t mind me asking?”

"Yes." Tom internally sighed with relief. "Yes, though it hasn't expressed itself the same way."

It was strange to talk about another species as a disease but in the moment it was necessary. Tom wondered how to approach this and added. "It appears to be a dominant expression."

That would at least help explain the similarities between Tommy. Aletayria, Ziggy, Jack, Zayda... and.... Tom's mind froze on Damien. Well, hopefully the lack of red hair would avoid that confrontation in the near future.
