Shout At The Devil! [Halloween Party] Band members and friends invited

Zack had decided that he wanted to do something for Halloween now that he'd gotten his new costume and being a Spider-Man fan he'd gone for a Spider-Punk costume straight from his comics. He'd gotten it at a local comic store down on the Strip and couldn't wait to show Damien because he knew the Dog didn't have comics or anything fun back in Hunger City. Zack now pleased that he'd arranged a Halloween Party for the band members, their friends and family to attend inside the communal area of the apartments. It was the biggest space and there was a bar all stocked up with spooky drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike.

It would be a blast!

There were even spooky snacks with crisps and chips shaped like bats, ghosts and pumpkins. There were even actual pumpkins on a table for those who wished to carve a pumpkin alone or with friends. Zack had tried to make it accessible for all, those who wished to party and get drunk and those who wanted to do non-boozy activities too.

As for costumes---they were optional but preferred.

"Ok, I think that's it. Everyone should be arriving soon."

Zack looking around the room and hoping everyone would like what he had set-up with help from some of the others of course.

Sven just nodded because what else could he say right now? This was something he hadn't expected to hear coming into the party wanting to have fun with Davy and now he was pissed off and angry.

"Yeah, a walk."

The blond walked out into the cool air outside and wanted to smash something in anger. Davy had been violated by this----this piece of shit!

"Was anyone going to tell me about this?"

Mikkel giggled and then turned to give the dark haired bassist a sassy side eye. "Fine. I'll find someone else who wants to if you're going to be a boring old grouch."

Mikkel snuggled and kissed Fredrik's temple.

"Dirty Daddy's little brat?"

Niko burst out laughing at that nickname because what a name it was! Ah, so Mikkel was this man's little brother. That made sense because they were alike with the hair and the smile.

"I'm not with any band right now, well, not one here. Mine's back home in Finland and we've only just started out so we're quite new. I invited myself here on tour so I could meet up with my boring older brother, Heikki. That, and party all night, getting trashed and living it up here in LA."

Jerry followed along to make sure the Swede was going to be ok, or as ok as anyone could be in this situation.

"Wewere giving Davy the time to tell you himself." Which was true. "And Sam is as devastated by it as Davy. He walked in on it happening."

"Horror movie sets? That would explain the blood."

Gunnar touching some of the blood on Jake's clothes. The man had done a good job on the whole vampire look though, Jake now causing the Swede to laugh, as he pushed some of his big hair back, knowing full well that Joakim was trying to get into Jan's bed.

"He is. As for me---I am trying to get into Lex's tight pants."

"Yeah. There's a dirty old Swede here that jumped on my brother the moment he got here." Ansgar was laughing because while it was true, he wasn't being overly serious.

"Heikki is probably still busy trying to get laid."

Charlie did eventually manage to get into Bjorn's lap and curl up. Rekker sighed as he pulled Bjorn closer. He doesn't know if this feels good or is breaking his heart but Rekker is trying to enjoy it.


"I tried to find one as pretty as you are." Rekker winked at Bjorn then leaned his chin against his shoulder.

"Another dirty old Swede? There seems to be a lot of those here on the tour or---is it just me?"

Lots of mentions about dirty old men, glam queens and dirty boys, all Swedes. What a riot! Heikki will fit right in then because he's a dirty old boring brother! At least Niko thought so.

"You're probably right. I hear he's got a shy flower boy."

"There's a lot of Swedes here."

As far as Ansgar knew they outnumbered all the others, except maybe Brits.

"It's cute how he gets shy when your brother looks at him."

Jake snorted a laugh. "I always look like this."

Maybe it wasn't always, but it was very often that he looked this much like a vampire.

"Good luck." Jake shook his head and almost felt sorry for this guy. "You and about a dozen others. He barely fucks anyone and when he does.. he walks away in the morning."

Jake thought it better to be honest about what his brother acted like usually.

The ball was indeed a demo. And the cube-shaped cover reflected the look of their stage personas well. It looked both post-apocalyptic and medieval at the same time, a sort of rock and roll fantasy world where magic and music could intertwine.

“They’re our stage names.” Dee confirmed. They were the only names they had on the demo. “You can call us by our real names, Dee and Jay, if you want to right now… but if we were at a show… I hope you would want to keep the audience fully immersed in the sound and vision we create… especially if you were to become a part of it.”

Dee had a vision for the band he was attempting to build.

“It sounds better on recording ball, but listen to this…” he played some of the same clips on his phone as he did before, but also a bit of the other one on the demo.

Some of their new work, they explained, was more guitar driven. And Dee had an entire notebook in him with lyrics, riffs and other in-progress compositions if Johan was interested. But the demo set up a good idea of how they combined rock with classical to create a unique sound that hadn’t been done before.

“…what do you think?”

Tia squeaked from Dee's reaction, realizing she was maybe too rough with the new person. Immediately, she signed "sorry" with her right hand and put her left on on Dee's arm. Part of the accident was definitely being used to interacting with Rekker who was naturally more rough and tumble.

"Rekker helped the local schools develop music teaching for students with impairments." Ana pointed out. "That is when the others started with me."

Rekker was going to interject but he was used to letting the kids solve their own problems. The other two had been watching the discussion and Sophia pointed at Dee then her own lips. It wasn't signing more asking with pantomime if Dee was a singer.

He might not have understood the signs for the apology, but the intention was clear. The kids meant well.

“It’s fine… My muscles don’t… work very well. That’s all. So my body isn’t very strong anymore.” He attempted to explain, and to answer Sophia’s question, as he thought he understood it. “My voice is a lot stronger than my body, though. I love to sing. Very much.”

Of course, Minoru had seen Damien not that long ago. Just because he won American Ninja Warrior didn’t mean he was going to rest on his laurels. He had to qualify next year just like everybody else, so it was right back to the usual training schedule.

Heck, it was one of the few places that he could go to escape people acting weird around him. In his home world, he was a reclusive celebrity (they didn’t know he didn’t live in that universe). In the Nexus, his coworkers were still wondering why he hadn’t quit and his brother was still giving him the silent treatment any time he wanted to talk about doing something with said money. Even in Ziggy’s world, he felt a little out of place, suddenly being just like all the other rock stars. Even if he never admitted it to anyone but Martyn.

But in Hunger City, they still treated him like an honorary Pup. When he was there to train, nothing else mattered.

“Hey!” Minoru waved, laughing. “A dog dressed up as a cat? That’s s good one.”

“Uh… I’m not peachy. But your peachy is showing.” Minoru blinked, staring down at the previously skin-tight silk costume that was once covering Joe’s ass.

Unbeknownst to him, clearly, a seam had split, likely from how much he was running around.

(Minoru could empathize. It was why he never really wore nice things. At least, until Ziggy made him that suit. Which he somehow hadn’t accidentally ripped or destroyed yet.)

It helps that Damien's world didn't have much concept of money outside of the Ministry cities. They would respect a win at a physically demanding event but the money wouldn't be an issue, or even something that some of them would understand.

"Minoru." Damien smiled but it faded to an unusual expression for the Dog, one of defeat. "Aarne insisted."

They didn't have holidays so they are still new to the Dog so he hadn't dressed up but Zack's love of comics helped him understand some of the costumes at least.

Viktor coming as his stage name.....THE DEVIL. Meeting up with Damien, Jack and possibly some Dogs.

Viktor thought he looked a bit of a fucking twat dressed up like this but Billy said it suited his stage name Viktor "The Devil." So, the punk was now adjusting some of his cloak as he walked in wearing heavy black boots along with his devil costume. He had some of his firebombs attached to his thick leather belt hanging around his waist since he never went anywhere without them, as he lit up a smoke, careful that he was now a fucking walking napalm.

"Where's the fucking party?"

The Brit now looking around for bottles of vodka that he could chug down. He spotted the tall, thin outline of Damien and then saw the shock of red hair which was Ziggy's brother, Jack.

"You alright, Jack? Getting some booze in, mate?"

That’s what mattered most to Minoru. The achievement of scaling Mount Midoriyama, something that only three other people had been able to say. No one, though, had ever been able to do it twice. And that, for obvious reasons, was Minoru’s next goal.

“They look good.” He chuckled. “Think of it like a disguise.”

Did those fool Ministry cameras? Maybe this could be a new tactic or something.

“Oh! Guess what! The American Ninja Warrior folks reached out to me last week. They’re doing a special run on Christmas for charity! I get to run the course again!” He beamed. “Okay, so not the WHOLE course, just the first stage. But still, that’ll be so much fun!”

Johan flipped it around a few times in his palm and was interested to hear what it would sound like. How did you even play a demo ball anyway since it didn't slot in like a tape or lay flat on a record player like a vinyl recording.

"How do you play this? I'm not familiar with the technology."

It seemed Sweden hadn't taken up the recording ball technology either. Billy wished he knew but didn't have words for the Swede.

"Don't worry, guys. If you're performing in front of thousands I'll keep your stage names. The Prophet and The Mystic."

Johan nodded and beamed then listened as the boys played some of their recordings from their phone. It was good. The guitarist liked what he was hearing and could hear good composition.

"I think it's awesome. Yeah---you've really got something there, guys. So, you're looking for a lead guitar and a bass player?"

Dee blinked, stunned. Surely someone here would have a player, right? The clips he had on his phone would be good enough for this, but they didn’t sound anywhere near as good as a recording ball. He could understand why the format caught on so quickly here.

“Lead guitar, bass and drummer.” Dee corrected. “…while Jay is quite talented on guitar, a lot of what I’m writing now… is better suited for two guitars, not just one.“

He never wanted to sell his partner short, but Jay didn’t mind. If they wanted to perform live, as Johan suggested in front of thousands, they needed more than one person on a stringed instrument.

"Drummer too? Then, nearly a full band. Lead guitar and rhythm guitar I'm guessing? As for bass I know there are a few bass players who aren't in a band. There's the Brit guy Rex, Weird's older brother and the crazy guy Karl, who's with Raev, Ulfen's baby brother."

Karl would surely jump at the chance to be in a band, wouldn't he? Then again, so would Rex. It depended on who wanted the chance to join Dee and Jay's band and their commitments.

"Want me to pull over Karl to talk to you boys? I can see him right now drinking at the bar and being a loud mouth as usual."

“While I can play lead, I honestly prefer rhythm.” Jay explained matter-of-factly. “I suppose it comes from spending more time as part of an orchestra than a soloist.”

“I do vocals and piano… where needed.” Dee added, “Jay on guitar, as well as violin, cello, other strings…”

The orchestral mix on the demo showcased the piano and strings well.

“We would love to hear how your sound would mix with ours.” Dee nodded, and Jay followed in agreement. This was probably not the night to actually audition somebody, but who knows. Stranger things could happen.

"It's nice that you boys come from a classical background. I believe both Mick and Ulrik are as well."

Johan had heard both their guitar work and the other instruments the men had played. The Swede nodded and would indeed enjoy playing his guitar alongside Dee and Jay's work. For now though---introductions were needed, as Johan went to grab Karl from the bar, prizing the man away from the pile of drinks in front of him.

"What the fuck?---what's going on?"

Karl's loud voice now cutting through the air as he was led towards Dee, Jay, Billy and Zack. The trashed bassist grinning and waving at the new boys because---NEW PEOPLE!

"HEJ! I didn't know we had new people here! Nice to meet you, I'm Karl Magnusson. Younger brother of grouchy, dirty daddy SIGGY!"

Damien looked as unimpressed by the comment as he was with Aarne's persistence. He wasn't really someone who could disguise themselves; here or in his own world. His height and features were too remarkable, as were his yellow eyes.

Damien started to laugh. "Maybe I should register so you have competition." He was both teasing and complimenting Minoru's abilities. Damien thought it might be fun to try and compete even if it might be cheating since he wasn't as human as they expected.

Aarne was decked out in clothes that Mikkel had given him, skin tight, skimpy and probably more suited for a strip club than even this party. He had been running around earlier to help Damien with decorations, which was how the Dog ended up with cat ears.

"Kuuma!" Aarne called back when he heard Joe in another room. He's already dashing toward the sound of Joe's voice with a loli that he got from Rekker's kids.
