Dee, though, was even more excited about it all. This was the beginning of their career, he was sure of it now. "I'm looking forward to it."

Jay offered an arm to Dee. He was tired after that surprise shift, and he could tell his fiance was too - in the way he lingered, how slow he was to stand and how unsteady he was on his feet. But Jay was there, and the chair was only a few short steps away. He handed Dee the leftovers to put in his lap.
